O Space parking lots being repainted

The O Space has advised us that this weekend they are repainting the lines on their newly resurfaced parking lots.  This means the lots will be closed to all car traffic both Saturday, October 7th and Sunday, October 8th.

It is our intention to open the Tool Library for our normal hours both days, but traffic will need to be rerouted.

Visitors will need to park on the 103rd (the road leading in) and walk around the back of the O Space. We will have a couple of carts available to assist with heavy –awkward objects.  Please be sure you do not drive or step on the new paint.

Thank you for your patience as we all try to manage this process.

Brief Temp Construction Closure

Due to the ongoing work at the O Space on the parking lot, we will NOT BE OPEN Sunday 9-24
Please watch this space as we will update this notice if any further impact is expected.
Sorry for any inconvenience.

Yard Art by Steve Wootton Using the tool library

Some yard art I created at the beginning of the summer. I used a draw knife from the library to clean the uprights (which were obtained from the Vashon Forest Stewards) and a large diameter skill saw – also from the library – to cut the poles to length. You might be interested to know that the ‘bell’ is the original crash guard for the gas pumps that used to be at the Dockton Store.

Tool Library to be closed for Strawberry Festival Saturday

As in previous years, the Vashon Tool Library will be closed on Saturday, July 22nd for the Strawberry Festival.  Because of the parade, the road is closed most of the morning.  We will be open regular hours on Sunday from 2 to 5 PM.

Summer Tool Sale coming up July 15-6

Your Vashon Tool Library will be holding a tool sale the weekend of July 15-16 at the Penny Farcy Building across from the Fire Station.  The sale will be open from 9 AM to 3 PM both days.  On sale will be a huge variety of hand and electric tools, some donated and others surplused from our collection.  Prices will be very reasonable.  Proceeds will benefit the library and help us keep the library going – to buy specialized tools and support our repair and maintenance efforts.  So come by and see what’s on sale.
